Wiccian

It’s not. Unless ur Wiccan. Wiccans are taught that salt is protective. It’s not. It’s a neutralizer. U could say that neutralizing bad/negative energies is protective. BUT salt ALSO neutralizes good/positive energies. But some guy named Gardener said salt circles are a must….sure, maybe if u have 3 dozen disciplined & learned ppl, performing a huge Work at…Stonehenge. It would be used. Along with other things. But a salt circle for a small Work, like, get this interview, send back, cord cutting? Umm, Karen, baaaaby, ur neutralizing ur Work… it should be typed work. Is it important to KNOW how to draw a circle? Yes. Will u need it? Rarely. Chalk, red brick, & ash ( hearth, herbs, smoke cleansing, whatever ash), or herbs/plants are a better fit vs salt. & it doesn’t matter if it’s pink salt from the 3rd plateau of the Himalayas, or black salt from the depths of the Sahara desert on a blood moon. The trace amount of minerals have no big benefit, u’d get more punch if u smashed a Flinstone vitamin & mixed it with rosemary & dollar store incense ash. Know how to draw a circle. Yes. Don’t use salt, ur neutralizing everything. U rarely will need any circle. Just a good basic to have.

.......

There are many reasons why using salt on ground that has life is a bad idea, and much better choices.

It used to be salt was expensive, it was scarce and used as a form of currency, and trade.  It like sugar was used to barter with.  Because it had a perceived value, making a circle of it had a perceived value.

If the salt has had iodine added to it, iodine also kills beneficial bacteria.  If the salt itself doesn't the iodine if it has been added to the salt, will.  It will also kill microbial life, other life like mycelium, beneficial insects.  Literally it's an attack on nature.

And it can kill plants.

It can also change the PH of the soil.

If you truly respect nature, learn to use something else, please.
