Fanfic: Fear Inducing Concepts For Demons

•Divine Justice - Demons likely fear the wrath and righteous punishment of celestial beings if their evil deeds are brought into the light. Divine justice could mean the smiting of demonic forces or eternal damnation for wicked souls.

•Exorcism - The ritual of expelling demons from bodies and spaces they inhabit through incantations, prayers and rituals. The prospect of exorcism could mean a demon's end or banishment from the mortal realm.

•Sealing Magic - Spells, rituals and wards that can bind, imprison or banish demons, preventing them from wreaking havoc. The possibility of such sealing magic could instill terror in demonic entities.  

•The Light - Celestial radiance and divine illumination, which demons may view as anathema due to their essence of darkness and corruption. Exposure to "the light" could destroy or weaken demonic forces.

•Holy Ground - Consecrated spaces where divine power infuses a place, making it inhospitable territory for demonic influence. Betting set foot on holy ground could mean agony or destruction for demons.

•The Names - Knowing the true names of demons allegedly gives power over them. Loss of a secret name could enable divine beings or mages to control or banish a demonic entity.

•Forgetfulness - Demons may fear being forgotten or fading into obscurity. Without living vessels to host and corrupt them, demons risk ceasing to exist.

•Peace - Demons may ultimately fear a world where their corrupting influence is no longer needed due to the triumph of righteousness, virtue and spiritual enlightenment among humans.

•The Apocalypse - The final battle between good and evil that results in demons' ultimate defeat, possibly signifying their absolute end.   

•Salvation - The notion that humans may achieve spiritual enlightenment and avoid corruption, rendering demons' purpose null.     

•Redemption - Fallen souls managing to overcome vice and corruption through spiritual awakening, in spite of demons' influence.     

•Purification - Rituals and sacraments that can cleanse demons' negative influence and spiritual toxins from people and places.     

•Selfless Love - Notions of unconditional love that have power to transform beings beyond demons' comprehension and control.    

•Forgiveness - Humans' ability to forgive hurts, transgressions and injustices, negating demons' thirst for vengeance and resentment.  

•Enlightenment - Spiritual states of higher consciousness that demons cannot attain or corrupt, undermining their sense of superiority.

•Free Will - Humans' power of choice and capacity for good, regardless of demons' manipulations.      

•Emptiness - The notion that demons' essence of darkness, vice and evil may not be ultimately substantiated, despite their perception.

•Unknowing - Concepts beyond demons' comprehension and experience which render their outlook limited and challenges their sense of wisdom.
